A Mastung operation against Indian-backed militants has claimed the lives of two Pakistani security personnel, the military confirmed on Thursday. The clash erupted in Balochistan’s Mastung district during an intelligence-based raid aimed at neutralising members of the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Hindustan.
During the Mastung operation, Pakistani troops targeted the militants’ hideout. Three terrorists were killed in the heavy exchange of gunfire, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The area has since been cordoned off as sanitisation efforts continue to root out any remaining hostile elements.
Leading his men from the front, Major Zeeyyad Salim Awal, 31, embraced martyrdom while fighting bravely. The officer, hailing from Khushab, sacrificed his life for the nation. Another soldier, Sepoy Nazam Hussain, 22, from Jhelum district, also laid down his life in the line of duty.
The Mastung operation reflects Pakistan’s determination to counter Indian-sponsored terrorism. Security forces are committed to eradicating threats posed by such hostile networks. The military stated that sacrifices of the brave continue to reinforce the resolve to secure the country’s borders.
Officials noted that clearing operations remain underway in the region. Troops are combing through Mastung to ensure no further terrorist presence. The Mastung operation stands as a testament to the army’s dedication and the high cost of protecting the nation.
