ISLAMABAD: Labor Day is being observed throughout the globe including Pakistan with the renewed pledge to acknowledge and promote the dignity of laborers.
In his message on this day, President Mamnoon Hussain has said that Islam has given exemplary rights to laborers adding that the incumbent government has considerably increased wages of laborers.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that sacrifices rendered by laborers of Chicago turned the pages of history.
He said that the government was committed for the protection of rights and integrity of laborers.
Opposition leader in the National Assembly and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Syed Khursheed Shah has said that agriculture sector holds the importance of backbone in the economy.
He deplored; however, the agricultural sector is on the brink of destruction adding laborers were living lives of deprivation and poverty.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that no country could develop without protecting the rights of its workers.
The PTI Chief said in his twitter message, “Today, let me reiterate PTI’s commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of Workers & ensuring that the rights enshrined in our Constitution become a reality.”
In connection with the Labor Day, Jamat-e-Islami hosted a breakfast ceremony for laborers in Mansura and joined them.
