Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal strongly criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday, labeling its tenure as the “blackest” period in Pakistan’s history. He claimed that no significant development projects were completed during PTI’s rule.
“All the projects aimed at uplifting the masses were halted under PTI’s government,” said Iqbal. He questioned the party’s financial management, saying, “Nobody knows where the budget went or how it was spent.”
The minister also highlighted the lack of stability during PTI founder Imran Khan’s leadership. However, he expressed hope for the country’s future, stating, “Now the country is ready to move toward prosperity once again.”
Iqbal announced the launch of the “Uraan Pakistan” initiative, a development project he called a “game-changer” for Pakistan. He emphasized that the program would help rebuild the nation and give the economy a much-needed boost.
A few days earlier, Iqbal had commented on the need to eliminate anarchy in the country. He stated, “Pakistan is one of the richest nations in terms of resources, but unrest and political instability have held it back.”
He warned against repeating failed political experiments, saying, “There is no margin for negative experiments anymore.”
The minister stressed the importance of unity for Pakistan’s progress. “Everyone must come together to give the economy a new takeoff,” Iqbal urged. He acknowledged the country’s vast wealth of resources and its potential to overcome challenges with collective effort.
Iqbal remained optimistic about the “Uraan Pakistan” initiative, describing it as a vital step toward economic stability and national unity. He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring prosperity and eliminating the divisions that have hindered Pakistan’s growth.
