Mitchell Marsh Doubtful for Pakistan ODI Series

Mitchell Marsh Doubtful for Pakistan ODI Series

Islamabad: Australia captain Mitchell Marsh is doubtful for the upcoming ODI series against Pakistan due to injury and fatigue, according to Australian media reports.

The first ODI between Pakistan and Australia is scheduled to be played on May 30 in Rawalpindi.

With Mitchell Marsh’s participation uncertain, Josh Inglis has emerged as a strong candidate to captain the visiting Australian side in the ODI series.

Australian media reported that Marsh suffered an ankle injury during the Indian Premier League. He was also affected by fatigue after a long league campaign.

As a result, his availability for the Pakistan series remains doubtful.

Josh Inglis is now likely to lead Australia because Pat Cummins and Travis Head are busy with IPL commitments and are not part of the ODI squad.

Their absence has further strengthened Inglis’ chances of taking over the leadership role for the series.

In case Mitchell Marsh is ruled out, Ollie Peake could be in line for his international debut.

Australia may look to test new options during the three-match ODI series against Pakistan.

The three-match ODI series will begin in Rawalpindi.

The first match is scheduled for May 30, while the remaining two matches will be played in Lahore on June 2 and June 4.

The series is expected to attract strong attention as both teams prepare for an important white-ball contest.
