Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in supporting the successful completion of the Iran–United States peace agreement, calling it a significant step forward for regional stability.
In a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Mohammed bin Salman congratulated Pakistan on its role in the agreement and acknowledged the efforts of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, describing them as an important contribution to the breakthrough.
During the call, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated the Saudi leadership on the historic Islamabad Peace Agreement and thanked Saudi Arabia for its consistent support for Pakistan’s peace initiatives.
He said the Iran–US peace agreement became possible due to strong backing from Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states, which played a key role in encouraging dialogue and reducing tensions.
Mohammed bin Salman, in response, appreciated Pakistan’s contribution and reiterated support for continued diplomatic engagement. Both leaders stressed the importance of ensuring the success of upcoming Iran–US negotiations and warned against any attempts to derail the peace process.
The two sides also discussed Pakistan–Saudi relations and expressed satisfaction over growing cooperation between the two countries. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said both nations were close to finalizing a comprehensive economic package under the Saudi Crown Prince’s supervision.
Shehbaz Sharif invited Mohammed bin Salman to visit Pakistan and extended his best wishes to King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact and continue coordination on regional and diplomatic matters in the coming days.
