Rains forecast for Sindh until August 6
Meanwhile, monsoon rains, accompanied by strong winds, have been forecast for Karachi and other parts of Sindh until August 6, due to a strong monsoon system over the Indian state of Rajasthan and the Arabian Sea.
Various cities in Sindh reported rain over the last 24 hours. In Sukkur and its suburbs, intermittent rain provided relief from the hot and humid weather but also caused waterlogging in low-lying areas and power outages.
In Mohenjo Daro and its outskirts, rain offered much-needed relief for heat-stricken locals. Similarly, light to heavy rain in Qambar and its adjoining areas caused the tripping of several feeders, leading to power supply interruptions.
Tangwani also experienced a downpour. While the strong winds accompanying the rain resulted in a drop in temperatures, low-lying areas were flooded, and the power supply was suspended.
