Mukhtaran Mai graces FPW’s runway as showstopper

KARACHI: Three-day Fashion Pakistan Week (FPW) that was ongoing in Karachi ended gracefully on Tuesday.
On the last day, designers dedicated their collections to the courage and resilience of women during hard times.
In the winter festive collection, more wedding wears were presented instead of the formal attires which were committed with the unique and objective approach of the designers.
Designer Rozina Munib chose to have the gang rape survivor and women’s rights spokesperson Mukhtaran Mai as a showstopper for her to give a message of valour and bravery to the women facing adverse situations.
Designer Nauman Arfeen spread the message of peace through his little child stars who walked the runway wearing his collection.
Various artists including Faisal Qureshi, Mohsin Abbas, Sarwat Gillani and Mawra Hocane stepped on the runway as showstoppers for the designers.
Ali Sethi’s musical performance also adorned the Pakistan Fashion Week in its own distinctive way.
