Multan Sultans defeat Islamabad United by 52 runs

In the Pakistan Super League’s eighth edition, Multan Sultan on Sunday crushed Islamabad United and won the match by 52 runs.

As per the results, the entire team of Islamabad United was backed to the pavilion for 138 runs in 17 overs and 5 balls only.

Multan Sultan’s Abbas Afridi was declared Man of the Match while Islamabad United hit 12 fours and five sixes.

Islamabad United’s Sterling 5, Nawaz 21, Munro 31, Dawson 49, Azam Khan 16, Shadab Khan 1, Faheem 4, Wasim and Ahmed Zero, Tom Curran got out by scoring 1 run.

Multan Sultan’s bowler Abbas Afridi took 4 wickets, Ilyas 2, Osama Mir 2 and Ehsanullah also got 2 wickets.

Earlier playing first, Multan Sultans have set a massive 191-run target against Islamabad United in the seventh match of the eighth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL-8), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

The home side posted 190-4 in the allotted 20 overs.

Both David Miller and skipper Mohammad Rizwan hit half centuries to help Multan Sultans set the massive target.

David Miller scored 52 runs in 25 balls which included three fours and four maximums.

Skipper Mohammad Rizwan scored 50 runs in 38 balls, laced with five fours and a six.

Earlier, Islamabad United had won the toss and decided to bowl against Multan Sultans.

The match is being played between the two teams at Multan Cricket Stadium.

Islamabad United’s Captain Shadab Khan talked to the media after the match and said in T20 cricket, win and lose are continued.
