SWAT: In a recent development, the Returning Officer (RO) for NA-4 rejected the nomination papers of Murad Saeed, a leader from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), on Friday.
The reason cited was Saeed’s presence on the absconder’s list. Saeed, a former federal minister, has been reportedly evading authorities since the events of May 9.
PTI’s legal representative claimed that all necessary documents for the Election Commission of Pakistan were in order and declared their intention to appeal the decision in the Peshawar High Court (PHC).
