NORTH WAZIRISTAN: supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-backed candidate from North Waziristan have staged a protest against the alleged rigging in the election results of National Assembly constituency NA-40.
In the North Waziristan region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, various roads have been blocked due to the ongoing protests and sit-ins for six consecutive days, due to which the citizens are facing severe problems.
The protestors say that they will continue the protest until the victory of PTI is announced.
It is pertinent to mention here that JUI-F candidate was delcared winner from the contineuncy four days after the elections. Protesting on the delay of results and alleged manipulation in the elections, former Member of the National Assembly Mohsin Dawar sustained injuries in a firing incident in the Miranshah area of North Waziristan, police sources confirmed.
Reports on national media indicate that supporters of Mohsin Dawar were staging a protest in Miran Shah, expressing discontent over the delay in election results in North Waziristan.
Sources close to the situation have reported that Mohsin Dawar’s condition is currently stable and that he is out of danger. However, the specifics regarding the extent of his injuries have not been disclosed at this time.
