NAB arrests ex-president of PPP Punjab Qasim Zia

LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Punjab has arrested former President of PPP, Punjab Qasim Zia for alleged corruption on Saturday.
The NAB presented Qasim Zia in an accountability court. The court remanded the PPP leader into the NAB’s custody for 14 days. Qasim Zia’s company has accused of fraud of millions of rupees . The PPP leader has also served as president of Pakistan Hockey Federation.
 Zia was appointed president of Pakistan Hockey Federation in 2008 and served as the federation’s chief till 2013. He is an Olympic Gold Medalist in the field of hockey, and also remained a member of the Pakistan’s national hockey team from 1980-87.
