NAB KP decides to file corruption reference against FDA officials

PESHAWAR: The Regional Board Meeting (RBM) of National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held under the chairmanship of Brig (R) Farooq Naser Awan, Director General NAB (KP) here and decided to file corruption reference against Fata Development Authority Peshawar officials.
The meeting was attended by Directors, Additional Directors, Case  Officers, Senior Legal Consultants and other concerned officers. The following decisions were taken during the Meeting (RBM).
The Regional Board recommended conversion of inquiry into Investigation against Sikandar Aziz Ex-Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Officers / Officials of Settlement Deptt Peshawar and other to NAB HQ Islamabad. In this case, the accused persons illegally transferred / occupied State Land in Shoba Bazar Peshawar through fake PTD / PTO, says a NAB press release.
The Regional Board decided to file corruption reference against Officers / Officials of FATA Development Authority Peshawar and others. In this case, the accused persons were alleged for misuse of authority and embezzlement / misappropriation of funds to the tune of Rs.65.75 Million in construction of 6.5 KM Shingle Road from Malota to Shagai and 3.5 KM road from Daradar to Zoratop Kurram Agency.
Accused Faiz Muhammad, Executive Engineer (XEN) Highway Division Kurram Agency C&W Deptt and Nadir Khan Contractor (brother of Ex-Senator Abdur Rasheed Khan) was already arrested in the instant case.
Besides this three other reference were approved, first against Officers / Officials of Telephone Industries of Pakistan (TIP) Hairpur.
Second reference was approved against Ejaz Khan Assistant Store Manager, Field Store WAPDA and Officers of PESCO. Third reference was approved against Riaz Ali, Sub-Engineer Pak PWD & others regarding accumulation of Assets beyond known sources of income worth Rs. 19.388 Million.
The Regional Board (RBM) authorized two (02) initial inquiries against Akbar Khan resident Shinkiari District Mansehra and Qazi Muhammad Anwar, Qazi Trader Center regarding Cheating Public at Large. They deprived the general public from their hard earned money.
At the end, Brig (R) Farooq Naser Awan, Director General NAB (KP) said that NAB is committed to eradicate corruption from the Province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He directed all officers/officials of NAB to put in their best efforts in conduct of complaint verifications, inquiries and investigations against corrupt in accordance with law, transparently and on merit.– APP
