NADRA Introduces New Digital Service to Update Identity Records from Home

ISLAMABAD: Putting an end to long queues and repeated visits to government offices, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a major NADRA digital service allowing citizens to update their identity records from home through the Pak Identity mobile application.

The initiative aims to provide relief to millions of Pakistanis by eliminating the need for physical visits, extended waiting times, and travel-related inconveniences. Through this latest NADRA digital service, citizens can now conveniently update selected non-printable personal information linked to their Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) or National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP).

NADRA, the sole authority responsible for issuing CNICs and NICOPs both within Pakistan and abroad, stated that the Pak Identity app offers a step-by-step guided process to ensure accuracy and compliance with official regulations. The service has been designed to be fast, user-friendly, and secure.

Officials confirmed that a nominal fee has been set for this NADRA digital service, making it accessible to a wide segment of the population. By enabling record updates through a smartphone, citizens can save both time and resources while avoiding unnecessary administrative hurdles.

According to NADRA authorities, the expansion of digital services will not only enhance public convenience but also improve transparency and accuracy in government databases. Updating records through the Pak Identity app significantly reduces the chances of data errors and strengthens public trust in the national identification system.

The authority further clarified that this development is part of NADRA’s broader digitisation policy, aimed at modernising Pakistan’s identity management framework and expanding online facilities for citizens nationwide and overseas.

Citizens have been encouraged to download the Pak Identity mobile application and take advantage of the newly launched NADRA digital service to keep their identification records accurate and up to date.
