Pakistan is observing Youm-e-Tashakur across the country today. The day honours the nation’s victory in Marka-e-Haq and pays tribute to the brave armed forces and resilient people of Pakistan.
The morning began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Special prayers were held in mosques nationwide. These prayers expressed gratitude to Allah for peace and victory. A 31-gun salute was fired in Islamabad. Each provincial capital marked the day with a 21-gun salute.
Youm-e-Tashakur is being celebrated with national pride. Guard-changing ceremonies will take place at the mausoleums of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal. National flags will be hoisted in both federal and provincial capitals.
Floral wreaths will be laid at Yadgaar-e-Shuhada to honour the martyrs. Families of those who laid down their lives in Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos will be visited. Their sacrifices remain unforgettable.
The main event will be held tonight at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will attend as the chief guest. The Chief of Army Staff and the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee will also participate in the ceremony.
Last week, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq will be observed every year on 10 May. This day will celebrate the success of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, which crushed Indian aggression. He stated that the observance would continue with passion and national unity.
The Prime Minister praised the armed forces for their professionalism and courage. “The skills and commitment of our defenders have made every Pakistani proud,” he said.
He declared Friday, 16 May 2025, as Youm-e-Tashakur. This special day is meant to show gratitude to the military for their achievements and to thank Allah for His blessings.
The Prime Minister urged citizens to offer special prayers across the country. The aim is to thank Allah and seek His continued favour for Pakistan’s peace, strength, and future.
As the nation observes Youm-e-Tashakur, a wave of unity, faith, and pride fills the air. The ceremonies, tributes, and prayers reflect a firm resolve to honour the country’s heroes and move forward with strength and purpose.
