Lahore: Former Prime Minister and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif asserted on Tuesday that PTI’s ‘change’ and ‘Naya Pakistan’ slogans were a ‘fraud.
Addressing the 12th meeting of PML-N’s parliamentary board in Lahore, he emphasized that during his tenure in 2017, Pakistan was prosperous, having bid farewell to the IMF and repaid foreign loans.
Underlining his leadership achievements, Nawaz stated that the PML-N government, during his tenure, developed a network of motorways and initiated the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
He expressed confidence that if allowed to remain in power, Pakistan would have surged ahead, becoming an Asian Tiger.
Nawaz claimed to have fulfilled promises made before coming to power, citing the PML-N government’s control over the US dollar rate for four years and significant growth in the country’s exports during his tenure.
He contrasted this with the PTI’s governance, asserting that the dollar rate surged dramatically under their leadership.
Highlighting his accomplishments, Nawaz mentioned the elimination of load shedding during his last term as prime minister, contrasting it with the PTI’s inability to complete the Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway section.
He contended that, if in power, the motorway would have been completed by 2020, as outlined in their manifesto.
The PML-N supremo concluded by expressing his commitment that, if elected again, he would lead the country to stand on its own feet.
