The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has recently announced an official increase in electricity costs, amounting to Rs3.07 per unit.
This adjustment, responding to the October fuel price changes, reflects the dynamic nature of the energy sector.
As per NEPRA’s official notification, consumers can expect this rise to be reflected in their December electricity bills.
It’s important to clarify that while regular consumers will be affected, this adjustment does not apply to lifeline customers and those served by K-Electric.
Despite these exemptions, the decision to raise the electricity tariff has sparked concerns among consumers, who are already grappling with the challenges of rising inflation and economic uncertainties.
