KARACHI: At least nine people were died and 11 others seriously injured when a huge fire engulfed a multi-storey shopping mall on Rashid Minhas Road here on Saturday morning.
The fire, which ignited around 7 am, swept through the 4th, 5th, and 6th floors of the mall. Despite the valiant efforts of the fire brigade, over 46 people were initially trapped inside, but thankfully, they have been successfully rescued.
The rescue operation is ongoing, as officials suspect that more individuals might still be inside the mall. The cause of the fire remains unclear, and damage assessment is underway.
