The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGIP) has clarified that no changes have been made to the front cover of the Pakistani passport, dismissing viral social media posts claiming otherwise.
In an official statement, the department termed the images circulating online as fake and described the rumours surrounding the passport’s design as baseless and misleading.
Taking strong notice of the false reports, the DGIP urged citizens to act responsibly and avoid sharing unverified information on social media.
The Director General further stated that, apart from minor security feature enhancements, no modification has been introduced to the national passport’s design.
The department also announced that legal action will be taken against individuals or groups spreading propaganda regarding the passport.
