Quetta, September 10, 2026 : Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has taken a firm stand against the practice of Balochistan jobs selling within government departments, going as far as administering an oath to senior officers to ensure no post is bought or sold under their watch.
Speaking during a high-level meeting, Bugti made it clear that neither ministers nor secretaries would be spared if found responsible for facilitating illegal appointments. He said his position on this issue has remained consistent since day one, and that the entire cabinet, along with the Chief Secretary of Balochistan, stands united behind this principle.
Forest Department Recruitment Under Scrutiny
The chief minister also ordered a high-level investigation into complaints of irregularities within the forest department’s recruitment process. He warned that if credible evidence emerges through an impartial inquiry, those found guilty will face consequences regardless of their position or influence.
The remarks came during a session of the Secretaries Committee, chaired by CM Bugti, where the performance of various provincial departments was reviewed in detail. He reiterated that any department where confirmed proof of job selling surfaces will see its minister and secretary removed from their posts, calling this a non-negotiable red line.
CM Bugti Vows to Protect Youth From Exploitation
Bugti spoke passionately about young job seekers who endure long hours in harsh weather, whether shivering through winter or enduring scorching summer heat, only to be denied opportunities through unfair means. He stressed that allowing the jobs of Balochistan’s youth to be sold off under any circumstance is simply unacceptable, and directed officers to ensure complete compliance with his instructions.
He expressed full confidence in the capability of Balochistan’s officers, describing them as talented individuals capable of steering the province in the right direction. At the same time, he made clear that there would be no room for error and no forgiveness when it comes to matters involving job sales.
All secretaries present were asked to take an oath, invoking their faith, to commit to preventing any instance of Balochistan jobs selling from taking place under their authority. Bugti further instructed that subordinate staff and recruitment committees be closely monitored, stating that irregularities at any level would not be tolerated.
The chief minister acknowledged that resisting pressure to stop illegal hiring practices would not be easy, but insisted that no compromise would be made on the rights of the province’s youth. He concluded by emphasizing that restoring young people’s trust in the state is only possible by establishing a genuine merit-based system.
