Court issues non-bailable warrants for KP CM Sohail Afridi

An Islamabad court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Sohail Afridi, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in a case related to alleged misleading accusations against state institutions.

The hearing took place at the District and Sessions Courts in Islamabad. During the proceedings, Judge Abbas Shah reviewed the case registered against the chief minister.

The court issued the arrest warrants after Sohail Afridi failed to appear before the court despite being summoned. The judge directed authorities to arrest him and present him before the court.

The case has been registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act. According to officials, the complaint was filed by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).

Authorities allege that the chief minister made misleading statements about state institutions, which allegedly harmed their credibility.

Following the development, the court adjourned the hearing of the case until March 26 for further proceedings.
