PESHAWAR: former Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman Noor Alam Khan made the decision to join the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F).
Khan is set to be the JUI-F candidate from NA-28 Peshawar, as confirmed by the JUI-F general secretary of the Peshawar district.
In the 2008 general elections, Khan contested on the Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) ticket, while in the 2018 elections, he ran as a candidate for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Ahead of the general elections, JUI-F supremo Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s nomination papers were submitted from NA-265 Pishin on Friday. JUI-F provincial emir Maulana Abdul Wasay handled the submission of the nomination papers for Rehman. Rehman is set to contest elections for two national seats – NA-265 Pishin and DI Khan.
