NOWSHERA: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari advised seasoned politicians against relying on administrative influence for election contests.
Stressing the need for politicians with decades of experience to run on their manifestos, he expressed the PPP’s readiness to address issues like poverty and unemployment if allowed to serve.
Bilawal highlighted the steadfast support of PPP’s dedicated supporters, particularly in Nowshera, where activists are actively demanding elections rather than shying away from them.
He underscored the challenges facing Pakistan, including terrorism and economic issues, emphasizing that the PPP prioritizes national interests over personal ones in resolving these issues.
Asserting that transparent and fair elections are crucial, Bilawal urged the Chief Justice and the Chief Election Commissioner to ensure a level playing field.
He stated that if election results are unclear, the elected government would struggle to address the country’s problems.
Bilawal called on political leaders not to squander their past efforts for an election, emphasizing the PPP’s commitment to representing the people and fighting for workers’ rights.
Acknowledging the contributions of Benazir Bhutto and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Bilawal expressed skepticism about decisions made on behalf of the people and stressed the importance of respecting people’s choices.
Without explicitly naming former Prime Minister Imran Khan, he alluded to a once-enthusiastic leader now facing imprisonment, suggesting that this experience might bring enlightenment.
Bilawal also pointed out the tendency for those in power to forget the Constitution but suddenly remember it when out of office.
