The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) announced a reduction in liquefied natural gas (LNG) prices for January, providing relief to consumers amid heightened winter demand.
Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) sees a $1.13 cut to $13.68 per MMBtu, while Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) benefits from a $1.21 reduction, bringing prices down to $14.24 per MMBtu.
The move aims to alleviate winter energy costs for households.
In a separate development, the Ministry of Energy and Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) successfully secured an LNG cargo from the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) under a government-to-government framework agreement.
This strategic move enhances bilateral energy cooperation, with the cargo expected to reach Pakistan by February 2024, contributing to the country’s energy needs.
