Karachi: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has achieved a major milestone by securing the seventh position in the global ranking of the most powerful air forces.
According to Global Firepower.com, the Pakistan Air Force stands among the best in the world. It has strengthened its fleet by adding 1,434 aircraft, making it a formidable force.
The ranking by Global Firepower is based on the number and types of aircraft. The report highlights that the US Air Force leads the list with 5,737 helicopters, 1,854 fighter jets, and 3,722 support aircraft. The American defense budget stands at a staggering $800 billion annually. Russia and China follow in second and third place, respectively. China is rapidly modernizing its aerial strength with cutting-edge technology.
Despite being involved in the Ukraine conflict, Russia maintains its dominance in the air. Meanwhile, China is focusing on equipping its air force with advanced fighter jets, including sixth-generation aircraft and supersonic warplanes.
The Pakistan Air Force holds great significance, both globally and in South Asia. It remains a crucial military power in the region. Along with PAF, other top air forces in the world include those of Egypt, Turkey, and France.
