Pakistan and China have advanced their maritime cooperation by signing a significant memorandum of understanding (MoU). The agreement was made between the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) and China’s Shandong Xinxu Group.
Under the deal, Shandong Xinxu Group will bring capital investment and supply vessels to PNSC. This step will boost collaboration in ship procurement, leasing, and management services. It also covers close cooperation in ship operations, marketing, and crew handling.
Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwaar praised the MoU as a milestone for both nations. He stressed that the pact will promote regional trade and improve connectivity. He also noted that the venture will open doors for greater investment and strengthen the shipping sector in Pakistan.
The minister added that this maritime partnership will not only enhance PNSC’s operational capacity but also create a friendly environment for foreign investment. Both sides see the agreement as a new chapter in naval collaboration and commercial growth.
With this development, Pakistan’s shipping industry expects a rise in operational efficiency. Stronger maritime cooperation is set to increase regional integration and attract further economic opportunities.
