At a grand ceremony held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir honored the officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army for their outstanding bravery and exceptional service to the nation.
The event also celebrated the martyrs posthumously, with their families receiving medals to recognize the sacrifices made by their loved ones.
Addressing the gathering, General Asim Munir emphasized that martyrs and ghazis are the pride of the nation. He stressed that their respect and honor remain sacred to every Pakistani.
“The peace and freedom we enjoy today are a direct result of the sacrifices made by these brave sons of the soil,” General Munir declared. He highlighted their priceless contributions to the country.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Munir conferred prestigious military awards, including the Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-e-Bisalat. These medals were awarded to those officers and soldiers who showed remarkable courage during their service.
Families of the martyrs received the medals with great emotion. Many were visibly moved as the nation recognized the supreme sacrifices of their loved ones through this Pakistan Army Honours ceremony.
The Army Chief also expressed deep admiration for the families of the martyrs. He praised their resilience, strength, and unwavering love for Pakistan. “The spirit shown by the families of our heroes is a shining example of true patriotism,” General Munir said.
He further stated that the families’ resolve forms an integral part of the nation’s strength and identity.
The Pakistan Army Honours ceremony witnessed the presence of numerous senior military officials. Families of the award recipients and martyrs filled the hall, making the occasion a solemn and emotional tribute to selfless service and supreme sacrifice.
During his speech, General Munir also paid tribute to the country’s law enforcement agencies (LEAs). He acknowledged their critical role in countering terrorism and fighting extremism.
He noted that through relentless dedication and bravery, the Pakistan Army and LEAs have successfully foiled many terrorist threats, safeguarding the nation’s peace and security.
The Pakistan Army Honours event not only saluted the courage of the armed forces but also highlighted the vital contributions of law enforcement agencies in maintaining national security.
