A four-member Pakistan athletics team has departed from Lahore via Dubai to participate in the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain. The event marks a significant opportunity for young Pakistani athletes to showcase their talent on the international stage.
The national contingent includes three male athletes — Ghulam Murtaza, Muhammad Bahram Khan, and Muhammad Hussain Faiz — along with female athlete Iqra Riaz. The team is being coached by Semi Rizvi. Speaking to journalists before departure, coach Semi Rizvi said the entire nation’s prayers are with the athletes and expressed confidence that they will deliver an outstanding performance. She added that the event will provide valuable international exposure and learning opportunities for the young athletes.
Chairman South Asia Athletics Federation and President Asian Athletics Federation Major General (R) Muhammad Akram Sahi, along with President Pakistan Athletics Federation Brigadier (R) Wajahat Hussain, extended their best wishes and prayers for the national team’s success.
The 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain will take place from October 22 to 31, featuring top young athletes from across Asia competing in various athletic disciplines.
