Pakistan-Bangladesh Direct Flights Resume After 14 Years

Pakistan and Bangladesh have marked a new chapter in bilateral relations as direct air connectivity between the two countries resumes today after a 14-year gap.

According to Private News channel, Biman Bangladesh Airlines first direct flight will land at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport later tonight, restoring a long-suspended air route between Dhaka and Karachi.

Airport Authority and Civil Aviation officials in Karachi have received the flight schedule, confirming that the aircraft will depart Dhaka at 8:00 pm. Flight BG-341 is expected to complete the three-hour journey and land in Karachi at 11:00 pm (local time).

Special arrangements have been put in place at Karachi airport to welcome the arrival of Biman Bangladesh Airlines inaugural flight.

Officials said the restoration of direct flights is a significant development for both countries, expected to boost trade, travel and people-to-people contacts.Pakistan Bangladesh relations

The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority had earlier granted approval to Biman Bangladesh Airlines to operate flights to Pakistan. Sources added that the airline will initially operate two weekly flights on the Dhaka–Karachi route.
