Islamabad: Pakistan has emerged as a key diplomatic focal point in the region due to its effective and consistent foreign policy, according to a report published by the international journal The Diplomat.
The report states that China has openly acknowledged and praised Pakistan’s growing regional influence and mature diplomatic approach. It highlights that Pakistan’s government, state institutions, and public have maintained a unified and firm stance on national issues, a factor that has significantly enhanced the country’s credibility on the global stage.
According to The Diplomat, Pakistan’s balanced diplomacy has positioned it at the center of regional attention. China views Pakistan not only as an economically strengthening nation but also as a country capable of playing an influential role beyond its borders. The report notes that while Pakistan continues to maintain constructive relations with the United States, its longstanding strategic partnership with China is also progressing in a positive and stable direction.
China has reaffirmed its support for Pakistan’s role in both global and regional affairs and considers Islamabad a strong and suitable candidate for leadership roles, including the presidency of the UN Security Council and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Pakistan, in turn, places high importance on expanding its strategic cooperation with China across multiple sectors.
The report further states that China has once again expressed its unwavering support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. On regional issues, Beijing reiterated its stance that the Kashmir dispute should be resolved in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Additionally, China has urged the Afghan interim government to adopt moderation and maintain positive relations with neighboring countries. The journal notes that Beijing continues to strongly support Pakistan’s current regional and global policies.
Experts quoted in the report say that sustained international backing of Pakistan’s diplomatic stance reflects growing global confidence in the country’s foreign policy direction.
