Pakistan Becomes Region’s Most Expensive Petrol Market at Rs321 per Litre

Pakistan has become the most expensive country in the region for petrol after the price reached Rs321 per litre, as global tensions in the Middle East begin to impact energy markets.

The ongoing conflict in the Middle East has started affecting fuel prices, and Pakistan appears to be among the first countries facing its economic consequences. With petrol now selling at Rs321 per litre, Pakistani consumers are paying significantly more compared to several Gulf nations.

In comparison, petrol is much cheaper in many oil-producing countries. In Qatar, petrol currently costs around Rs144 per litre when converted into Pakistani currency.

Similarly, fuel prices in the Gulf region remain considerably lower. Petrol is available at approximately Rs172 per litre in Saudi Arabia, while drivers in the United Arab Emirates pay around Rs186 per litre.

Prices are also similar in Oman and Bahrain, where petrol is being sold at roughly Rs172 per litre.

Meanwhile, petrol prices in other major economies also remain lower than Pakistan. In the United States, the average petrol price stands at about Rs247 per litre. In India and China, fuel costs are estimated at around Rs305 per litre.

On the other hand, petrol remains extremely cheap in some oil-rich nations. Libya and Iran currently have the lowest petrol prices in the world, where fuel costs roughly Rs5.5 per litre.

At the opposite end of the global scale, Hong Kong has the most expensive petrol in the world, with prices reaching nearly Rs1,077 per litre.

Energy analysts say fluctuations in global oil markets and regional geopolitical tensions may continue to influence fuel prices in the coming months. As a result, consumers in Pakistan could face further pressure on transportation and daily living costs.
