Pakistan Conducts Precision Strikes on Gul Bahadur Group Camps Along Afghan Border

Pakistan Conducts Precision Strikes on Gul Bahadur Group Camps Along Afghan Border — Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar confirmed that Pakistan carried out targeted operations last night on verified camps of the proscribed Gul Bahadur group located in North and South Waziristan. The strikes were conducted in response to recent cross-border terrorist attacks launched from Afghan soil.

“In these precision strikes, a minimum of 60–70 Khawarij terrorists, including their top leadership, have been sent to hell based on confirmed intelligence reports,” Tarar announced on X (formerly Twitter), stressing that the operation was part of Pakistan’s right to defend its people and sovereignty.

Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have sharply escalated as the Taliban regime continues to shelter India-backed terrorist factions, particularly the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also known as Fitna al-Khawarij. The latest surge in violence began on October 12 when Taliban and TTP militants carried out an unprovoked assault on Pakistani forces along the border.

In retaliation, the Pakistan Armed Forces launched a decisive counter-operation, neutralizing over 200 militants belonging to the Afghan Taliban and affiliated groups. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that 23 Pakistani soldiers embraced martyrdom while bravely defending the nation’s frontiers.

Following the initial clashes, Pakistan’s security forces expanded their operations into Afghanistan’s Kandahar province and capital city Kabul, destroying multiple terrorist strongholds through precision-guided strikes. The coordinated operations reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to eliminating cross-border threats while maintaining strategic restraint.

A brief ceasefire was observed on October 15 at the request of Afghan authorities, halting intense fighting that had left dozens dead and hundreds injured. However, Minister Attaullah Tarar revealed that during the 48-hour truce, militants linked to the Khawarij network attempted several terror attacks inside Pakistan, all of which were effectively foiled by the country’s security forces.

He stated that during these engagements, over 100 militants were successfully neutralized. In a separate incident, elements of the ex-Gul Bahadur faction launched a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (IED) attack in North Waziristan, resulting in the martyrdom of a soldier and multiple civilian casualties.

Rejecting allegations of civilian deaths in the precision strikes as “baseless propaganda,” Tarar clarified that such claims were part of a deliberate campaign to generate sympathy for banned terrorist outfits operating from Afghan territory.

The minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s consistent stance that the solution to the complex issue of Indian-sponsored terrorism emanating from Afghan soil lies in constructive engagement and firm action by Afghan authorities against non-state actors. “Pakistan will continue to defend its sovereignty and protect its citizens. We will not allow terrorists using Afghan territory to operate with impunity,” he concluded.
