The government has formally declared December 25, 2023, as a public holiday to commemorate the birthday of Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Notably, this date coincides with Christmas Day, observed by the Christian community in Pakistan.
The official announcement from the Cabinet Division signifies a dual celebration on December 25th, marked by ceremonies and events nationwide paying homage to Quaid-e-Azam Jinnah’s life, political contributions, and pivotal role in the formation of Pakistan.
Activities planned for the day include television and radio broadcasts focusing on Jinnah’s legacy, school processions, marches, and scouting rallies.
Simultaneously, the Christian community will engage in Christmas festivities alongside the national holiday.
To enhance the celebratory atmosphere, iconic landmarks like Mazar Quaid, Quaid-e-Azam Museum, and Flagstaff House in Karachi will be illuminated in honor of both occasions.
