Pakistan Denounces Israel Attack on Iran, Urges UN to Intervene Immediately

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan on Friday harshly condemned the Israel attack on Iran, calling it an unjustified and unlawful act of aggression.

In an official statement, the Foreign Office said the Israeli strikes violated Iran’s sovereignty and territorial borders. It added that this assault clearly defied the UN Charter and international law.

“Iran holds the right to defend itself under Article 51 of the UN Charter,” the statement emphasized.

Earlier on Friday, Israel launched a wide-scale military operation against Iran. According to Tel Aviv, the strikes targeted nuclear facilities, ballistic missile sites, and senior military figures. Israel claimed it was the start of a longer campaign aimed at stopping Tehran from developing nuclear weapons.

Iranian media and eyewitnesses confirmed explosions, including one at the Natanz uranium enrichment site. At the same time, Israel declared a state of emergency, fearing an immediate counterattack through missiles and drones.

Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards announced that top commander Hossein Salami was killed. Iranian state TV also reported a deadly strike on its command center in Tehran. Several children lost their lives in a separate attack on a residential area in the capital.

Reacting to the situation, Pakistan expressed unwavering support for Iran and its people. The government called the Israel attack on Iran a blatant provocation that endangered peace across the region and beyond.

“The United Nations and the international community must step in now,” said the Foreign Office. “They have a duty to uphold law, stop this assault, and hold Israel accountable for its actions.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif sent his deepest condolences to the people of Iran. He strongly condemned what he described as an unprovoked Israeli act.

“This is a reckless and dangerous move,” he said. “It could further destabilize an already fragile region. The UN must act quickly to prevent wider conflict.”

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar echoed those concerns. He called the Israel attack on Iran a direct violation of Iranian sovereignty.

“This cruel act has not only broken the rules of international law, but also shattered the conscience of the global community,” Dar posted on X. He stressed that Pakistan stands shoulder to shoulder with the Iranian government and people.

Former Foreign Minister and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari also denounced the Israeli strikes. He expressed solidarity with Iran and urged world leaders and the United Nations to work together for peace.

In a show of national unity, both the Senate and the National Assembly passed a resolution. They described the attack as a “war crime” against a brotherly nation. The resolution was presented by Deputy PM Dar in the Senate.
