PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government said on Thursday a total of 217,825 undocumented Afghan nationals were deported to Afghanistan over the past two months.
The KP Home Department said that a total of 217,825 immigrants have been sent back to Afghanistan through three border points in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Out of it, the majority, 214,194 immigrants, were repatriated through the Torkham border. This figure encompasses 18,167 families, comprising 60,307 males, 47,221 females, and 106,666 children, from September 17, 2023, until now.
Additionally, 3,212 foreigners were returned to Afghanistan via Angoor Ada at the Lower Waziristan border, and 410 through the Kharlachi border in Kurram district.
On November 15, a notable repatriation took place, with 522 families, including 525 males, 493 females, and 974 children, sent back to Afghanistan via the Torkham border. Simultaneously, 233 illegal foreigners were deported through Torkham on the same day.
