Pakistan Downs Afghan Drones as Security Forces Foil Cross-Border Incursion in Balochistan

Pakistan downs Afghan drones

Pakistan downs Afghan drones after security forces intercepted and neutralised four unmanned aerial platforms launched from across the border into Balochistan, according to the military’s media wing.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Pakistan’s air defence network detected the drones immediately after they entered the country’s airspace. Security forces then used advanced countermeasures to destroy all four drones before they could cause any damage.

The military said the swift response successfully prevented what it described as a hostile cross-border attempt.

According to the ISPR, the Afghan Taliban administration is supporting terrorist groups operating from areas under its control. The statement claimed the drone launches were intended to divert attention from the challenges faced by people in Afghanistan under the current regime.

The military urged the Afghan Taliban to stop supporting terrorism and instead follow the principles of peaceful coexistence. It said continued cross-border provocations would receive a strong response.

The ISPR added that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully prepared to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. It warned that any future attempts to threaten Pakistan or endanger its citizens would be met with a swift and decisive response under Operation Ghazab lil-Haq.
