Vote counting has commenced following the conclusion of the largest general election in the country’s history. In initial unofficial results:
– NA-3: Independent candidate Salim-ur-Rehman leads with 373 votes.
– NA 44: Independent candidate Ali Amin Gandapur is ahead with 3556 votes.
– NA 46: PML-N’s Anjum Aqeel Khan leads with 101 votes.
– NA 64: Chaudhary Salik of Q-League is ahead with 252 votes.
– NA 103: Independent candidate Muhammad Ali Sarfaraz is in the lead with 530 votes.
– NA 119: PML-N’s Maryam Nawaz leads with 318 votes.
– NA 122: Independent candidate Latif Khosa is first with 567 votes.
– NA 151: PML-N’s Abdul Ghaffar leads with 341 votes.
– NA 157: PML-N’s Syed Sajid Mehdi leads with 332 votes.
– NA 172: Azad hopeful Javed Iqbal Waraich is first with 340 votes.
Security arrangements were in place, with police, Rangers, and Pakistan Army deployed at polling stations. Candidates contested for 265 National Assembly seats and 591 Provincial Assembly seats, with a total of 5,254 candidates for the National Assembly. The polling duration was from 8 am to 5 pm.
