Islamabad: Pakistan’s role as a mediator during tensions between the United States and Iran has received growing international recognition, according to Turkish media.

A report by Turkish broadcaster TRT stated that Pakistan emerged as a trusted mediator between Washington and Tehran during the recent period of regional tension.

According to the report, Pakistan adopted a quiet, organized, and effective diplomatic approach. Unlike some regional powers, Pakistan avoided public posturing and focused on back-channel diplomacy.

TRT reported that Field Marshal Asim Munir’s diplomatic approach was based on silent contacts rather than publicity.

The report said he maintained communication channels between the United States and Iran, even during difficult conditions.

This approach helped Pakistan gain credibility as a serious diplomatic actor during a sensitive regional crisis.

According to Turkish media, Pakistan’s geography, military reputation, intelligence credibility, and relations with both the United States and Iran gave it a unique diplomatic position.

The report added that Pakistan’s military leadership has emerged as a key guarantor of economic corridors, regional connectivity, and diplomacy.

Pakistan has also maintained active relations with the United States, China, Gulf states, Iran, and Türkiye.

TRT further stated that Pakistan’s defence agreement with Saudi Arabia strengthened its regional credibility.

The report also noted that Field Marshal Asim Munir adopted a firm position against terrorism along Pakistan’s western borders.

This stance, according to the report, added to Pakistan’s image as a stable and responsible regional power.

The Turkish media report said Pakistan has emerged as an acceptable mediator during Middle East tensions.

However, it added that Pakistan will need to overcome its economic challenges in order to maintain its diplomatic influence.

The report suggested that economic stability will be important for Pakistan if it wants to continue playing a larger regional role.

Earlier, officials from the United States and Iran had also appreciated Pakistan’s role during US-Iran tensions.

Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Qatar have also praised Pakistan’s effective mediation efforts, according to the report.

This growing recognition shows that Pakistan’s diplomatic role is being viewed positively by several regional and international stakeholders.

Pakistan’s role during US-Iran tensions reflects a broader shift in its regional diplomacy.

By maintaining contacts with both sides and avoiding aggressive public statements, Pakistan positioned itself as a practical and reliable mediator.

The TRT report described Pakistan’s approach as quiet, structured, and effective at a time when the region needed communication and restraint.
