In a powerful move to counter India’s propaganda, Pakistan’s Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar led a group of international and local media representatives to the Line of Control (LoC) on Monday. The tour was organised by the Ministry of Information to confront false accusations made by New Delhi about the presence of alleged terrorist camps near the border.
The media delegation was taken to several areas that India has repeatedly labelled as militant hideouts. But what they witnessed told a different story. These locations were peaceful civilian zones, not the so-called camps mentioned in Indian reports.
“These are not terrorist camps,” said Minister Tarar. “They are homes of innocent civilians. Today, international journalists have seen this with their own eyes and spoken directly to the people affected by India’s propaganda.”
He said the purpose of the visit was to reveal the truth and break the chain of misinformation spread by India. “We want the world to see the facts on the ground,” he added. “Pakistan believes in peace and has always rejected terrorism in every form.”
Mr Tarar said Pakistan had shown its commitment to peace not only in words but also through real actions. He called India’s accusations “fabricated” and urged Indian authorities to look at their own serious human rights violations in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
“Instead of spreading propaganda, India should face the truth about its brutal treatment of Kashmiris,” he said. “The world must not be misled by India’s attempts to distract from its internal failures.”
He made it clear that Pakistan is fully prepared to defend its sovereignty. Any aggression, he warned, will be met with a “prompt and befitting response.”
This visit by the media comes during a time of renewed regional tension. Pakistan believes India is pushing a narrative to isolate Islamabad on the global stage. PML-N leader Talal Chaudhry also recently stated that India is using incidents like the false flag operation in Pahalgam to damage agreements such as the Indus Waters Treaty.
Concluding the visit, Minister Tarar reaffirmed that Pakistan will continue to host global observers to counter disinformation and show the truth. “Transparency is the best answer to India’s propaganda,” he said. “We will keep the world informed and expose every lie with evidence.”
