Rawalpindi: A high-level Indonesian delegation, led by Lieutenant General (Retd) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Minister of Defence of Indonesia, visited Pakistan’s General Headquarters on Monday. The delegation included senior members from Indonesia’s armed forces and intelligence agencies.
They held an important meeting with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, Pakistan Army. Both sides discussed ways to boost Pakistan-Indonesia defence cooperation, reviewed regional security issues, and explored opportunities to deepen their military partnership.
The talks reflected the deep-rooted ties between the two nations. Field Marshal Asim Munir emphasized the significance of strong defence relations in promoting peace and stability across the region. He expressed Pakistan’s willingness to further enhance strategic military alliance with Indonesia.
During the meeting, the Indonesian Minister of Defence lauded the Pakistan Army’s successful efforts in combating terrorism. He also reaffirmed his country’s commitment to long-term Pakistan-Indonesia defence cooperation.
This high-level exchange marks another step in advancing bilateral defence collaboration between Pakistan and Indonesia. Both countries expressed hope for continued growth in defence ties and mutual support in addressing future regional challenges.
