Pakistan Joins Muslim Nations in Condemning Israel’s Move to Annex West Bank, standing firmly alongside fellow Muslim countries, the Arab League, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in rejecting Israel’s latest legislative attempts to extend so-called “sovereignty” over the occupied West Bank and illegal colonial settlements.
In a powerful joint statement, the participating nations warned against “the continuation of Israel’s unilateral and illegal policies and practices,” urging the international community to fulfill its legal and moral obligations by compelling Israel to halt its dangerous escalation. The statement emphasized the urgent need to implement the two-state solution as the only viable path to lasting peace in the Middle East.
The signatories of the statement included Pakistan, Jordan, Indonesia, Turkiye, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Gambia, the State of Palestine, Qatar, Kuwait, Libya, Malaysia, Egypt, Nigeria, the League of Arab States, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Together, these countries reaffirmed their unified position against Israel’s annexation agenda, denouncing it as a blatant violation of international law and multiple UN Security Council resolutions.
Specifically, the joint statement cited UN Security Council Resolution 2334, which “condemns all Israeli measures aimed at altering the demographic composition, character, and status of the occupied Palestinian territories since 1967.” The nations also referenced the recent advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which reaffirmed the illegality of Israel’s occupation and declared its settlement activities and annexation measures invalid under international law.
The statement further welcomed the ICJ’s opinion outlining Israel’s obligations toward the occupied Palestinian population, emphasizing that Israel must ensure the availability of essential supplies and allow unhindered humanitarian relief efforts in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, including Gaza.
Meanwhile, former U.S. President Donald Trump also commented on Israel’s annexation ambitions, warning that Israel would lose crucial American support if it proceeded with such plans. “It won’t happen because I gave my word to the Arab countries,” Trump stated, adding, “Israel would lose all of its support from the United States if that happened.”
Pakistan Joins Muslim Nations in Condemning Israel’s Move to Annex West Bank, marking yet another moment where Islamabad reaffirmed its unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian cause. Pakistan, along with its Muslim allies, has once again urged the global community to act decisively and uphold international law to end the ongoing occupation and restore justice to the people of Palestine.
