Pakistan Navy Launches Seaspark 2026 Exercise in Karachi

The Pakistan Navy has kicked off its large-scale Seaspark 2026 exercise in Karachi, with Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf attending the opening briefing as chief guest.

Speaking at the event, Admiral Ashraf said the Navy has no room for compromise when it comes to staying combat-ready, pointing to what he described as a volatile and increasingly complicated security landscape across the region.

He also touched on the rising significance of information warfare, noting that modern conflict demands closer coordination between all three branches of the armed forces rather than isolated planning.

What the Seaspark 2026 Exercise Involves

The drill is designed to test how well the Pakistan Navy can respond to both traditional naval threats and newer, technology-driven challenges at sea. A wide mix of assets will take part, including warships, submarines, aircraft, and drones, alongside Pakistan Marines and Special Operations Forces personnel.

The exercise isn’t limited to naval assets alone. The Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force are also taking part, showcasing how the services plan and execute combat operations together rather than independently, a key theme running through this year’s Pakistan Navy exercise.

Fleet Visits and Operational Review

As part of the proceedings, Admiral Ashraf toured several Pakistan Navy warships to observe ongoing activity firsthand. He used the visit to interact with officers and crew members stationed with the fleet, getting a closer look at day-to-day operational routines.

Officials say the broader goal behind Seaspark 2026 is to keep the Navy’s capabilities sharp across every layer of maritime defense, reinforcing Pakistan’s stated commitment to maritime security and long-term operational readiness in the region.
