Pakistan offers to host Iran-US talks, ready to mediate tensions

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has expressed readiness to host potential talks between Iran and the United States, offering to play a mediation role if both sides agree.

Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said Islamabad is open to facilitating dialogue between the two countries. He added that Pakistan remains committed to promoting peace and diplomacy in the region.

Speaking to the media, the spokesperson said Pakistan is always willing to help reduce tensions through diplomatic channels. However, he stressed that any talks would depend on the consent of both Iran and the United States.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Ministry has denied reports of any ongoing negotiations with Washington. This comes amid conflicting claims from former US President Donald Trump, who recently said a 15-point agreement had been reached following backchannel contacts. However, no official details of such a deal have been shared.

According to a British newspaper, Pakistan is positioning itself as a key mediator to ease tensions between Tehran and Washington. Reports suggest that quiet diplomatic efforts are already underway behind the scenes.

Officials say Pakistan aims to support regional stability by encouraging dialogue and peaceful solutions.
