ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has officially lodged a protest with Afghanistan over the recent Jaffarabad Express incident, highlighting growing Pakistan-Afghanistan security tensions. A formal protest letter was sent to the Afghan Embassy in Islamabad.
According to officials, the letter raised serious concerns about safety and cross-border threats. A senior official from the Foreign Office delivered the protest and urged Afghanistan to take swift and effective action.
“This is not a one-time event,” said a senior security officer from Pakistan. “It fits into a wider pattern we have consistently warned Kabul about.” The Pakistan-Afghanistan security tensions have deepened due to such repeated episodes.
Officials fear that Afghanistan is not doing enough to curb threats that spill over into Pakistan. The incident has intensified concerns over the broader issue of border safety and militant activity. Pakistan has asked Afghanistan to prevent such acts from occurring again.
“The use of Afghan land for actions against Pakistan cannot be tolerated,” stated a Foreign Office spokesperson. “We have clearly conveyed our position and expect strong measures in return.”
Diplomatic sources say that Islamabad is pressing for a solid commitment from Kabul. “We are engaged in talks,” a senior diplomat said. “But repeated incidents are making the situation difficult. Pakistan needs clear guarantees that Afghanistan will act against such hostile groups.” The issue adds more pressure to already strained Pakistan-Afghanistan security tensions.
Although Afghan authorities have not issued any public response, sources in Kabul claim the matter is being examined. An Afghan Foreign Ministry official, speaking anonymously, said, “Afghanistan values its relationship with Pakistan. We want to maintain peace and good neighborly ties.”
The Afghan official added, “We do not support any acts that harm our neighboring country. If Pakistan has security worries, we are willing to talk and resolve them.” Yet, the Pakistan-Afghanistan security tensions remain high, with both sides exchanging concerns and demands for action.
Pakistan hopes this diplomatic move will push Kabul to act seriously. But without solid steps from Afghanistan, the Pakistan-Afghanistan security tensions may continue to grow. These tensions are now central to discussions between the two countries and could shape future cooperation or confrontation.
