Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, and his top Saudi delegation met with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday, affirming their commitment to strengthening ties across various sectors between the two countries.
During the meeting, the Saudi delegation congratulated President Zardari on his re-election and briefed him on Saudi Arabia’s investment plans for Pakistan. President Zardari assured the Saudi delegation of full support from Pakistan.
Both sides agreed to bolster trade relations in the future, with the Saudi Foreign Minister emphasizing Saudi Arabia’s deep commitment to its relationship with Pakistan and its desire to establish a robust partnership.
The discussions also touched upon regional issues, including recent developments in the Middle East, with both countries advocating for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and condemning Israeli actions in Gaza.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude to the Saudi leadership for their interest in investing in Pakistan, highlighting the longstanding and unparalleled relationship between the two nations. He emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to promoting foreign investment and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships with brotherly countries like Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi delegation’s visit aims to elevate bilateral cooperation and enhance economic ties between the two countries, following up on commitments made during recent high-level meetings between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Makkah.
