RAWALPINDI – Pakistan’s security forces have killed 33 Indian-backed terrorists in Zhob, Balochistan, during an infiltration attempt from Afghanistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Friday.
According to the military’s media wing, the incident took place last night when troops detected the movement of a large group of khawarij belonging to the Indian proxy outfit Fitna al-Khwaraj, linked to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
The ISPR said the militants were trying to cross the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Sambaza area of Zhob district. Alert troops intercepted them and launched a precise and bold response. As a result, 33 India-sponsored terrorists were eliminated on the spot.
Security forces also seized a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the location. A sanitisation operation is underway to clear the area of any remaining khawarij.
The ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s armed forces are determined to defend the nation’s borders and completely wipe out Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country. The statement added that India had intensified its proxy war against Pakistan after suffering defeat in the May conflict. The army warned that all such proxies will face the same crushing defeat.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the armed forces for the successful operation. In a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, he described it as a “remarkable success” in the fight against extremism.
“Our brave soldiers risked their lives to foil the infiltration attempt and crush the nefarious designs of the terrorists,” the prime minister said. He reaffirmed that the entire nation stands firmly with the armed forces in this battle.
PM Shehbaz also pledged his government’s full commitment to eradicating terrorism in all its forms. “We are determined to remove every trace of terrorism from our soil,” he added.
Bannu Operation
In a separate development, Pakistan Army and police jointly carried out a search and targeted operation against khawarij in Bannu, Radio Pakistan reported. The operation was based on intelligence reports aimed at eliminating terrorism and restoring peace in the region.
Security forces cordoned off the area, while police detained several suspects. The houses of two local facilitators of the Indian-backed militants were also demolished.
Local residents welcomed the action, calling it an important step for public safety. They assured full support to the security forces. The Pakistan Army and police stressed their resolve to ensure lasting peace and destroy the roots of terrorism.
