The spokesperson for the Foreign Office in Islamabad affirmed on Thursday that Pakistan would not grant bases to any foreign government.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the spokesperson, highlighted during the weekly briefing that Pakistan maintains positive relations with both the US and Iran, and aims to enhance ties with both nations in its national interest. She emphasized the significance of the trilateral discussions involving Pakistan, China, and Iran, with the exact date of these talks yet to be determined.
Baloch stated, “Numerous communication channels exist between Pakistan and Iran, and we will continue to engage in dialogue to bolster cooperation with Iran.” She further disclosed ongoing discussions between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia concerning investments in various sectors, including energy.
Regarding India, Baloch underscored the longstanding presence of an Indian network in South Asia and its global reach, particularly highlighting Indian extrajudicial killings worldwide. Pakistan has presented evidence of attacks by Indian agents to the international community, asserting that Indian actions are illegal and violate international law. Baloch refrained from commenting on recent statements made by the Indian Prime Minister.
Highlighting Pakistan’s preparedness to defend itself, Baloch emphasized that Pakistan’s forces and people remain vigilant to safeguard the country. Additionally, she condemned Israeli aggression and blockade in Gaza, expressing Pakistan’s solidarity with the Palestinian people and reaffirming its commitment to support them against illegal settlements and escalating aggression by Israel.
