Pakistan has successfully conducted a training launch of the Abdali missile system, a powerful surface-to-surface weapon. The launch took place on Saturday under Exercise INDUS, according to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The missile has a strike range of 450 kilometers. This successful test highlights the growing strength of Pakistan’s short-range missile capabilities. The ISPR said the purpose was to test the operational readiness of the troops. It also aimed to validate important technical features such as the missile’s advanced navigation and improved manoeuvrability.
The training launch of the Abdali missile was witnessed by high-level officials. These included the Commander of Army Strategic Forces Command, senior members of the Strategic Plans Division, and top scientists and engineers from Pakistan’s strategic institutions.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the launch. Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, along with the heads of all three services, also congratulated the teams. They appreciated the efforts of the participating troops, engineers, and scientific experts.
The leadership expressed complete trust in the operational abilities of Pakistan’s strategic forces. They said Pakistan’s missile systems ensure a credible minimum deterrence. The Abdali missile launch reinforces the nation’s capability to defend itself against any threat.
This missile test comes amid rising tension between Pakistan and India. The situation worsened after the recent Pahalgam attack in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. India, without offering any proof, blamed Pakistan for the incident. Pakistan strongly denied the accusation.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has granted full military freedom to respond. In contrast, Pakistan has issued warnings, stating that India may be planning an imminent military strike.
The timing of the Abdali missile launch sends a clear message. It shows Pakistan’s preparedness and its determination to protect national security. The missile test not only demonstrated technical strength but also underlined the nation’s resolve to counter any hostile move.
By showcasing the Abdali missile system, Pakistan has once again proved the effectiveness of its strategic deterrence. With rising regional tensions, this move holds deep strategic and symbolic value.
