The founder of the Pakistan Ulema Council has vehemently condemned the letter from members of the U.S. House of Representatives expressing support for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). According to Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, the letter represents a blatant interference in Pakistan’s internal matters and exemplifies the hypocritical policies of PTI.
The Pakistan Ulema Council completely rejects this correspondence, criticizing U.S. lawmakers for their silence on the dire humanitarian crisis in the Middle East, particularly the suffering of thousands of Palestinians. Ashrafi emphasized that the government of Pakistan, along with its citizens and various political and religious factions, possesses the full capacity to address their own issues without external influence.
He firmly stated that the contents of the letter constitute an infringement on Pakistan’s sovereignty and are written on behalf of Zionist interests.
