Bangladesh secured a memorable victory in the Pakistan vs Bangladesh 2nd Test after defeating Pakistan by 78 runs at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. The win helped Bangladesh complete a clean 2-0 sweep in the two-match Test series.

Chasing a huge target of 437, Pakistan were bowled out for 358 despite strong resistance from Mohammad Rizwan and Shan Masood. Bangladesh’s bowlers kept control throughout the final day and wrapped up the match in dominant fashion.

Pakistan resumed the final day with hopes of saving the game. Mohammad Rizwan and Sajid Khan added important runs quickly and built a valuable partnership that pushed the total beyond 350. Taijul Islam finally broke the stand after dismissing Sajid Khan for 28 off 36 balls, including five boundaries.

Soon after, Shoriful Islam removed Rizwan, who played an excellent innings of 94 runs from 166 deliveries with 10 fours. Taijul then completed his six-wicket haul by dismissing Khurram Shahzad for a duck to seal the victory.

Earlier in the Pakistan vs Bangladesh 2nd Test, Pakistan lost both openers early for just 41 runs. Babar Azam and captain Shan Masood steadied the innings with a solid partnership and guided the team past 100.

Babar scored 47 before getting out, while Saud Shakeel managed only six runs. Shan Masood continued fighting and scored a composed 71 before Taijul Islam struck again.

Mohammad Rizwan and Agha Salman later rebuilt the innings with a crucial partnership that briefly gave Pakistan hope. Salman scored a well-made 71 before Taijul dismissed him and triggered another collapse.

Bangladesh had earlier posted 278 in their first innings after recovering from 116-6. Litton Das played a brilliant knock of 126 runs with 16 fours and two sixes. Khurram Shahzad was Pakistan’s best bowler with four wickets.

Pakistan replied with 232 runs in their first innings and conceded a 46-run lead. Babar Azam top-scored with 68, while Sajid Khan added 38 valuable runs lower down the order.

Bangladesh then produced a strong second innings to set Pakistan a massive target. Mushfiqur Rahim led the way with a superb 137, while Litton Das and Mahmudul Hasan Joy also made important contributions.

Khurram Shahzad impressed again with four wickets in the second innings, while Sajid Khan claimed three scalps. However, Bangladesh’s strong batting and Taijul Islam’s outstanding bowling performance proved too much for Pakistan in the Pakistan vs Bangladesh 2nd Test.
