Former cricketers have predicted a blockbuster final between Pakistan national cricket team and India national cricket team in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
The tournament, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, has moved into the Super Eight stage after the completion of the first round. The next phase will determine which teams continue their push toward the title.
During a discussion, Shoaib Malik asked former Test cricketer Basit Ali to name the teams he expects to reach the semi-finals from both groups.
Basit Ali said he was waiting for the result of the Pakistan versus New Zealand match but expressed confidence that the final would feature Pakistan and India. His remark drew laughter from participants, after which he was asked to name the other semi-finalists.
He predicted that Pakistan and New Zealand would advance from Group A, while India and West Indies would qualify from Group B.
Meanwhile, former wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal named Pakistan, New Zealand, India, and South Africa as his semi-final picks.
The Super Eight stage is expected to deliver high-intensity matches as teams battle for a place in the knockout rounds.
